Women and Money - too focused on the little things?

I've been thinking lately that many women excel at the art of the deal.  From coupon clipping to hitting the right sale, women seem great at maximising value when it comes to shopping.  But is there too much focus on smaller items and not enough on the big picture items?  I read lots of articles suggesting to cut out that Starbucks habit but consider how much of our incomes go to where we live (housing) and how we get around (transportation).  I'm a firm believer in living below your means in those two areas of life first and then once those big picture items are in order devoting time to focus on the smaller things.

Deal on Nude Pumps

I finally bought some nude pumps, deciding to give this pair by Talbots a try.  Confession - since they were on sale I acutally bought these shoes in three of the four available colors.  Talbots lately seems to have some additional percentage off promotion running at all times so you can get these for a steal.  I wore them last week and have to say I was very impressed with the look and the comfort level.  The almond shaped toe is frighteningly similar to a pair of Prada heels that I recently bought and the lower height + padding makes these an incredible deal for a pair of work shoes with a very current and yet classic look. 

For me these shoes run true to size.  I wear an 8.5 in American shoes and 39 in most designer European brands.

Forever 21

Forever 21 is a like a guilty pleasure.  I always find something there.  It is a great resource to add some current fashion without spending much money.  Here is a great top I picked up recently.  It is more of an antique ivory in person and the neckline is higher on me than the model.  Feminine and conservative.

I'm also loving these studded bracelets which come in black and white.  Perfect for layering.  I love to mix in less expensive pieces like this with my higher end items and also they are great for trying out a trend.

Its hard to come up with a more recognizable, yet well respected professional flat than the classic Ferragamo shoes with the bow detail. Ferragamo has updated this look with the Varina pump, which has a more modern cut. I've already worn out a pair in black patent, so I'd recommend getting these zip soled if you should get a pair.
